Assistant district attorney Lance Beal was the lead prosecutor in the murder trial of fentanyl overdose death.

The15th Judicial District Attorney's Office began presenting evidence Thursday in its murder case against an Acadiana man accused of selling a local college student the fentanyl-laced drugs that caused her fatal overdose.

Body camera footage, surveillance footage, a 911 call and law enforcement testimony began to paint a picture of that fatal night.
